Position Summary The Part-Time Welcome Center Associate serves as the first point of contact for visitors, providing friendly, accurate, and helpful information about Oxford and the surrounding area. This role supports daily operations of the Welcome Center, ensures a clean and welcoming environment, and assists visitors with guidance, recommendations, and general inquiries. Key Responsibilities Visitor Services Greet all visitors warmly and professionally upon arrival. Maintain the daily Visitor Log with accurate entries. Answer incoming phone calls, provide information, transfer calls when needed, and take detailed messages. Offer knowledgeable recommendations on local restaurants, including the type of cuisine they serve.
Provide general guidance and easy-to-follow directions to nearby attractions, shops, and points of interest. Local Knowledge & Resource Management Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Oxford's sights, attractions, and things to do. Stay informed on weekly, monthly, and annual events in Oxford. Understand the layout and contents of the Visitor Guide to assist guests effectively. Maintain knowledge of MS Hills Passport stamps and assist visitors with collecting them.
Be familiar with typical business hours of stores and restaurants on The Square. Center Operations Perform daily open and close procedures reliably. Maintain bathroom cleanliness throughout shifts. Restock maps, brochures, and other materials; maintain awareness of backstock organization. Clean and restock the beverage station as needed. Process transactions through the Square POS system accurately and efficiently.
