Seafoods of the World was founded in 1978 under the motto: "Seafood is Our Business. Top Quality at the Right Price." We've grown our business from a small frozen product list to an extensive 300+ fresh & frozen product line, with the goal of providing Montana and Wyoming restaurants, grocery stores and distributors with quality products and incredible customer service. 11 years ago, we expanded our business to include a public seafood market dedicated to serving our retail customers. Retail employees are the face of our market, but also play a vital role in supporting our primary wholesale business. This position is for full-time employment of approximately 35-38 hours per week. Hours will fall between the following days/hours; Mon—Fri 9AM - 5:30 PM, Saturday 9 AM—3:30 PM. Because of increased sales around holidays, no employees are allowed time off during the last three weeks of December and around some major holidays. We are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Pay & Benefits Stable & growing, family-owned business with a small staff of long-term employees. Starting hourly wage of $19.50. Weekly pay period. Employee discount and $300 annual spending credit (prorated at time of hire). No health benefits at the current time. Simple IRA during third year of employment (over $5000 in wages); company will match up to 3%. Typical Duties & Responsibilities Exemplify our company's image in terms of quality products, incredible customer service and positive overall experience. Use Quickbooks to complete a variety of tasks, including creating invoices and taking payments, receiving products, and paying bills. Greet and assist customers as necessary through responding to questions about products and merchandise, including assistance over the phone. Stock store; including presentation of product, facing, filling and organizing of all product items, as well as ensuring tag and pricing accuracy. Learn and sustain a high level of product knowledge through self-initiated questions and research (annual spending credit used with emphasis on learning products). Confidently run and close the market several evenings, including handling any issues that may arise, setting the alarm system and carrying company keys. Occasionally assist customers with fresh product, including weighing and cutting raw fish & shellfish. All employees must follow Health-Code procedures (to be taught on the job). Fulfill online orders, including contacting customers and packing orders for UPS shipping. Create and publish online posts advertising available products, sales, etc. Job Requirements Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently. Strong typing skills and the ability to memorize item codes is at the forefront of our point of sale system. Strong communication and organizational skills. Willingness to work and communicate effectively as a team, but be able to work independently. Self-motivated and detail-oriented. Working knowledge of computers, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Quickbooks. Prior Quickbooks experience is preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent. Stocking the store will require spending some time in the freezer, as well as carrying weights up to fifty pounds. Motivation to learn more about our products in terms of improving customer satisfaction and overall experience. Prior knowledge of culinary and/or seafood is a plus.
