Full Job Description Role Description:
As the Shop and Equipment Lead, your goal will be to ensure our field crews do not lose time due to missing tools, broken equipment, or disorganized materials. You will be responsible for managing and improving the shop inventory, tool repairs, and trailer restocking. In this role you will also help with delivering materials and equipment to our job site across the southeastern united states.
Key Responsibilities Inventory & Tool Management:
Maintain a meticulously organized shop. Keep inventory levels updated, track tool assignments, and ensure all items are in their proper place and ready for use.
Logistics & Delivery:
Drive company trucks and pull trailers to deliver equipment and materials to job sites. This includes rental equipment pickups and deliveries.
Site Safety & Support :
Perform basic safety audits while on-site to ensure a secure work environment. Act as a resource for field crews to resolve equipment issues.
Project Preparation:
Stage and organize materials for upcoming projects so crews can "load and go" without delays.
Fleet Maintenance:
Clean, restock, and organize trailers after project completion. Manage the repair schedule for all machinery and tools to minimize downtime.
Facilities Oversight:
Handle basic building maintenance, repair tasks, and lawn care for the shop premises.
Required Qualifications & Abilities Driving & Logistics:
You must be able to safely drive 1-ton trucks (F350 size) while towing and maneuvering 20' long box trailers. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) - No more than (2) violations in the past 7 years. Must be able to pass a DOT physical and interstate driving requirements.
Travel:
Willingness to be out of town an average of 1 night per week.
Physical Requirements:
Able to work in hot and cold conditions and comfortably lift/move up to 50 lbs (e.g., welding electrodes boxes, sandbags, and equipment).
Technical Literacy:
Proficient with computers to manage inventory software, order parts, and communicate via email.
Communication:
A positive, solution-oriented attitude. You will interact with sales staff and field crews; your ability to build morale and keep operations smooth is vital. Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
Improvement Record:
Track record of improving their areas of responsibility at work.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Experience with small engine repair or equipment maintenance.
Fabrication Skills:
Skills in welding and general metal fabrication.
Inventory Management Skills:
Experience with inventory or logistics systems.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
