Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Description:

This position is open for Night Shift . As a store cashier, your primary responsibility is to provide excellent customer service while efficiently and accurately handling transactions. You will be the first point of contact for customers entering the store, so maintaining a friendly and welcoming demeanor is essential.

Responsibilities:

Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them in locating items. Ring up purchases accurately and efficiently using a cash register (point-of-sale (POS) system). Accept payments in cash, credit, debit, or other forms, and provide correct change or process electronic transactions. Answer customer inquiries regarding products, prices, and availability. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring that items are properly displayed and stocked. Monitor and manage inventory levels, alerting management when stock is low or items are out of stock. Follow company procedures for handling returns, exchanges, and refunds. Adhere to all safety and security protocols, including verifying age for the sale of age-restricted products such as tobacco and alcohol. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth store operations and excellent customer service. Complete opening and closing procedures, including balancing cash drawers and reconciling sales transactions. Uphold store policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling, cleanliness, and customer interactions. Maintain knowledge of promotions, discounts, and special offers to inform customers and maximize sales opportunities. Maintain store cleanliness including but not limited to janitorial duties inside and outside of store. Restocking store merchandise and supplies throughout the day, every day.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills and proficiency in handling cash transactions. Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills is a plus.
