We are offering a $500 sign-on bonus payable 90 days of employment Pay Rate $17.00/hr. + $5.00 if working weekends Job Description The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, generating sales and contributing to a positive store environment while abiding to all applicable compliance standards. Essential Functions 1. Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment including greeting and acknowledging all customers, maintaining excellent standards, and handling inquires and sales in a professional manner using appropriate techniques. 2. Maintain current on product knowledge, merchandising promotions, and advertising features for all categories. 3. Assist customers by identifying and fulfilling needs and wants while creating up-sales and add-on purchases. 4. Participate in meeting store incentive programs as defined by DFA procedures. 5. Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash, media balances at POS registers when assigned. 6. Participate in events and promotions to drive sales as well as processing and receiving of new products, testers, identifying damages and supporting return to vendors (RTV's). 7. Monitor stock and report any out of stock items and/or stock needs and requests. 8. Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in inventory counting when assigned. 9. Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping and cleaning. 10. Comply with the Fair and Accurate Transaction Act (FACT). 11. Adherence to Customs Regulations, Airport Regulations (if applicable), loss prevention and all company policy/procedure standards. 12. Performs all other duties as required. Competencies 1. Regular and reliable attendance. Flexibility and ability to work varied hours/days as business needs dictate. 2. Ability to speak and hear effectively with customers, vendors and/or associates of the organization. 3. Ability to read efficiently, perform basic mathematical functions (count, add, subtract, divide & multiply) and write to accurately complete work related documentation. 4. Comprehension of cash handling (denominations of monies to make change). 5. Vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Professional retail sales environment with minimal privacy utilizing standard retail sales/inventory equipment; with a medium to high noise level and with occasional exposure to elements such as dust fumes, noise and odor. Physical Demands 1. Physical demands include frequently standing for long periods; walking; ability to reach above or below shoulders, twist at the waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, climb and balance. 2. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. 3. Ability to operate electronic equipment (P.O.S., Credit Card Verification etc.) and use equipment (manual) such as ladder, step stool, objects with wheels, spray bottles and other cleaning equipment necessary to perform job function.
Required / Preferred
Education & Experience 1. Preferable experience in a retail customer service environment. 2. High School Graduate, G.E.D. 3. Ability to work well under pressure and time restraints. 4. Excellent interpersonal skills, adjust to variety of cultures and personalities.
