Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Parts Counter Associate is the front line of the Davis Ford parts operation — serving our service technicians, retail walk-in customers, and wholesale accounts with speed, accuracy, and genuine helpfulness. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role where product knowledge, customer service, and inventory discipline all come together every day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer & Counter Service Assist retail customers, service technicians, and wholesale accounts at the counter, by phone, and via email with part identification, pricing, and availability Look up parts using Ford's electronic parts catalog (Ford D2D Link / OE Connection) and internal DMS (Autosoft) Process sales transactions, quotes, and special orders accurately and efficiently Build repeat business through consistent, knowledgeable, and friendly service Inventory Receive, verify, and stock incoming parts orders; report discrepancies and damaged shipments promptly Maintain accurate bin locations and a clean, organized parts room Pull parts for shop technicians and stage orders for timely delivery to the service drive Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts Code invoices for parts purchases Wholesale & Internal Operations Support wholesale account relationships including local shops, fleets, and municipal accounts Process cores, warranty parts returns, and manufacturer claims per Ford Motor Company guidelines Work closely with service advisors and technicians to minimize comebacks and reduce wait time on parts Assist with special order follow-up — communicate ETA updates to internal and external customers proactively
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in transactions and inventory Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing demands Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude Basic computer proficiency Preferred Prior experience in a dealership parts department or auto parts retail environment Familiarity with Ford parts catalogs, part numbering systems, or Autosoft DMS Experience with wholesale accounts or fleet parts sales Knowledge of OEM vs. aftermarket parts considerations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the parts department for extended periods Lift and carry parts and components up to 50 lbs regularly; heavier items with assistance Bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders as needed to access shelving Work in a shop-adjacent environment with exposure to noise, dust, and automotive fluids
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday 7:30 to 5:30 COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
