Sales Associates (SSA)

Basic Function Responsible for providing superior customer service, conducting merchandise sale transactions, and contributing to a positive store environment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities All associates must be able to perform these responsibilities with or without modifications to the application process, to the job, to areas in the store, or to equipment in the store to be considered for this position. 1. Sales

• Meet personal sales goals. Be aware of sales-to-goal status and consistently strive to achieve company sales expectations including approaching and re-approaching customers. Contribute ideas to help store achieve increased sales. Have a strong focus on closing sales. 2.Quality Customer Service
• Maintain a strong customer focus and consistently provide quality customer service. Be friendly, greet, approach and re-approach customers. Deal effectively with objections. Handle all customers with confidence and tact. Keep merchandise sized, organized, and accessible for the customer. 3. Teamwork
• Contribute to a positive team environment in the store, help boost moral of other associates, congratulate their successes, and leave other associates with favorable impression.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities These functions are not essential to performing the basic function of this position for ADA purposes. All associates are not required to be able to perform these responsibilities to be considered or hired for this position. However, these responsibilities must be performed by some associates in the store.

ASSOCIATES WHO ARE ABLE TO PERFORM THESE RESPONSIBLIITIES ARE REQUIRED TO DO SO. 1.

Store Presentation

• Participate in scheduled floor sets. Perform daily store and product maintenance duties including shipments, markups/markdowns, back stock and consolidations. Take initiative to perform daily maintenance tasks completely and accurately. 2. Cashiering
• Ring customer transactions, perform register functions, and follow company cash handling policies 3. Store Maintenance
• Vacuum, clean, dust, sweep, etc.

Required Background / Experience / Qualifications 1. Six months' face-to-face customer service experience 2. High School Diploma (or equivalent) or enrolled in high school & at least 16 years of age 3. Interpersonal and verbal communication skills enabling effective sales and customer relations 4. Successful previous retail sales experience (preferred) 5. Ability to lift up to 25lbs and stand during scheduled shifts of 8 to 12 hours
