TBD JOB PURPOSE
To bag groceries, perform some cleaning duties, and to provide customer service
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Bags groceries for customers taking proper caution to sack groceries and other items to arrive at the customer's home in satisfactory condition. Keeps front end of store in clean, orderly manner performing general housekeeping by sweeping and wiping counters. Mops up spills. Sweeps the whole store at least every two hours. Sweeps front porch area. Waters produce every hour. Brings in shopping carts. May pick up trash in the parking lot. Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ABILITIES
): Must be at least 16 years of age or older Good knowledge of store cleaning procedures. Good knowledge of procedures in bagging groceries. Good verbal communication skills. Ability to handle a variety of customer requests and personalities. Must be people oriented
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED If still in high school, must maintain average passing grades. No experience required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standing/Walking/Bending-100%; Outdoors-50%./Indoors/grocery store setting, 50%. Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. Exposure to some cleaning chemicals and varied weather temperatures and conditions. Must follow safety precautions and requirements. Work schedule varies, flexibility required. Required to work weekends and holidays.
