This position is responsible for overseeing the produce department, managing inventory, and leading a team to provide excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in produce handling, retail operations, and effective communication skills to foster a positive shopping experience for our customers. Duties Supervise and train produce department staff to ensure high standards of quality and customer service. Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and ensuring timely delivery of fresh produce. Load and unload deliveries while adhering to safety protocols and proper handling techniques. Conduct regular inspections of produce displays to maintain freshness and presentation. Utilize retail math skills to analyze sales trends and adjust inventory accordingly. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding product availability, promotions, and customer feedback. Assist customers with inquiries about produce selection, preparation, and storage. Perform heavy lifting as required to stock shelves and maintain a well-organized department. Requirements Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment, specifically in the produce department. Strong knowledge of produce handling practices and inventory control techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as part of daily responsibilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with retail math concepts for effective inventory management and sales analysis. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining product displays. A positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
