As a key member of our team, you will help ensure the smooth operation of the Pro Shop while delivering an exceptional, service-driven experience. This dynamic role blends customer service, retail, and club operations, contributing to a vibrant, well-run environment within one of the Club's most active spaces. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist members and guests with a warm, professional approach, providing outstanding customer service and support with product inquiries and purchases Support retail operations, including the sale of racquets, apparel, accessories, and related equipment Provide thoughtful product recommendations based on individual needs and playing level Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems and proper cash handling procedures Address member and guest inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally, helping to maintain a positive and welcoming environment Maintain inventory, restock merchandise, and ensure the pro shop remains clean, organized, and visually appealing Assist with racquet stringing services, as applicable or trained Support tennis programs, events, and overall daily club operations Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous customer service or retail experience preferred Basic knowledge of tennis (rules, scoring, equipment) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, punctual, and professional Preferred Qualifications Tennis playing experience (USTA rating a plus) Experience in a tennis facility or pro shop environment Knowledge of racquet brands, strings, footwear, and accessories Experience with racquet stringing, or willingness to learn Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems Skills & Competencies Strong customer service and sales skills Attention to detail and organizational ability Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented mindset Basic math skills for transactions and inventory Strong problem-solving and communication skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move merchandise (up to 25-40 lbs) Comfortable working in an active, indoor/outdoor environment Work Environment Tennis facility setting with both indoor and outdoor operations Fast-paced during peak hours and seasonal programming Frequent interaction with members, guests, and tennis staff Schedule & Availability Must be available to work Thursday through Sunday on a consistent weekly basis Shifts are primarily afternoons and evenings Occasional weekday shifts may be available to provide additional coverage, as needed Additional Expectations Maintain a positive, service-focused attitude Uphold Club standards and policies Represent the West Side Tennis Club with professionalism and enthusiasm Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the role This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in tennis, retail, and hospitality to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic club environment.
