Job Description

About the Role We're a friendly, customer-focused small business seeking conversational, people-first Retail Associates. You'll be cross-trained to work in both our Olive Oil & Balsamic shop and our houseplant boutique (Prima Plants). If you love engaging with customers, learning products, and keeping a shop humming, you'll fit right in. What You'll Do Customer service that sparks joy: Greet warmly, start conversations, guide simple tastings/samples, and help guests choose great pairings (oil + balsamic) or the right plant/pot combo. Register & orders: Ring sales in Square POS, assemble/pack gifts, and support in-store pickups.
Daily shop care:
Restock shelves, tidy displays, light cleaning, sweeping/mopping per schedule, trash, and general upkeep. Bottling & labeling: Bottle olive oils and balsamics; label, cap/shrink, following simple cleanliness and quality checks (training provided).
Plant care basics:
Water on schedule, light pruning/tidying, basic pest checks, simple repot requests (training provided).
Two locations:
Work shifts in Hamburg and East Aurora as scheduled; reliable transportation required. Growth & Advancement Milestones with raises: Increases as you master cross-training (customer experience, bottling SOPs, sampling best practices, plant care basics, opening/closing checklists).
Expanded roles:
Opportunity to become a Manager (store operations, scheduling, coaching, and standards).
Development:
Ongoing coaching, product education, and plant-care skill building. What You'll Bring People-first energy: You enjoy starting conversations and helping customers discover favorites. Reliability & follow-through: On time, follows checklists, communicates clearly.
Detail focus:
Comfortable with labeling, basic food-safe sampling, and plant care steps.
Physical ability:
On your feet, occasional ladder/step-stool, and lifting up to ~35 lbs.
Schedule flexibility:
Mix of weekends and weekdays; able to work at either store. Nice-to-Haves Retail or plant shop/greenhouse experience (not required—training provided). Interest in cooking/flavor pairings or houseplants.
