As we continue to grow, we are excited to open our first LooseLeaf retail store in New York City. We are looking for outgoing, customer-focused Sales Associates who can help create a strong first impression for our new retail store. About the Role The Sales Associate is responsible for creating a positive customer experience, supporting product education, assisting with sales, maintaining store presentation, and following all compliance procedures for age-restricted products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, learning about products, helping customers make selections, and contributing to a new store launch. Key Responsibilities Greet customers and provide a friendly, professional shopping experience Assist customers with product questions, recommendations, and general store support Learn LooseLeaf products and communicate product features accurately Process sales transactions using the point-of-sale system Verify customer identification for age-restricted products Help maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing product displays Support merchandising, restocking, and inventory organization Monitor product levels and communicate restocking needs to management Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and compliance requirements Support opening, closing, and daily operating procedures as assigned Help prevent loss by staying aware of store activity and reporting concerns Assist with general store upkeep and other duties as needed Qualifications Previous retail, sales, customer service, or specialty retail experience preferred Must be at least 21 years old due to age-restricted products Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills Comfortable speaking with customers and making product recommendations Dependable, punctual, and professional Comfortable using a point-of-sale system and handling transactions accurately Detail-oriented and able to follow procedures and compliance requirements Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Preferred Experience Smoke shop, vape shop, tobacco, convenience store, liquor store, specialty retail, or similar retail experience Experience in sales, product recommendations, or customer education Experience with inventory, merchandising, or store opening/closing tasks Bilingual skills are a plus but not required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, and stock merchandise Ability to lift up to 25-40 lbs. as needed Comfortable working in a retail store environment Compensation The pay range for this position is $19.50-$24.00 per hour , based on experience, availability, and qualifications. The listed pay range represents the company's good-faith estimate of the compensation range for this position at the time of posting.
