Budtender

Overview Forage Dispensaries is accepting applications for the role of Budtender to support our mission of offering the highest quality cannabis products while providing the best customer service experience in New York. Some of the responsibilities of the Budtender include cordially greeting guests, communicating and sharing product knowledge, notifying onsite management of any customer concerns or complaints, addressing guest questions, and helping customers achieve their desired cannabis experience. Selected applicants will undergo rigorous trainingto prepare for answering guests' questions regarding topics such as strains of cannabis, cannabinoids, terpenes, testing, and methods of consumption. Maintaining compliance with state law is the responsibility of all staff at Forage. Training will be provided to all Budtenders to ensure compliance is met, and continued education will be offered at regular intervals, to include any available updates. Ultimately, an outstanding Budtender should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, provide stellar customer service, andensure that guests leave well-informed and satisfied with their visit and purchases. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages engagement and trust Provide detailed product demos and educate customers on product features, effects, and usage instructions Assist customers in selecting products based on their needs, preferences, and experience levels Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and sales volume Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure an appealing shopping environment Conduct inventory checks, stock replenishment, and manage product rotation to optimize sales opportunities Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or follow-up calls from customers or vendors Support compliance with all regulatory requirements related to product sales and documentation Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and exceptional customer service Qualifications Previous retail sales experience, preferably in grocery stores or similar environments, is highly desirable Strong communication skills with the ability to explain product details clearly and confidently Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and basic retail math ensures accuracy in transactions Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for team collaboration roles Knowledge of customer service best practices, including phone etiquette and upselling techniques Ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining high energy levels throughout shifts Familiarity with merchandising, stocking procedures, and store presentation standards A proactive attitude with excellent organizational skills to manage inventory and product displays efficiently Embark on a fulfilling career where your enthusiasm makes a difference!
