Sales Clerk / Retail Associate

Youngs Ace Hardware, Lumber & Feed is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Sales Clerk to join our team. This position works directly with customers across our hardware, lumber yard, and pet/feed departments. We are seeking someone who enjoys helping people, stays organized in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable with hands-on work. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, able to lift merchandise, and willing to learn about hardware products, building materials, animal feed, and pet supplies. Responsibilities Assist customers with hardware, lumber, feed, and pet supply purchases Load lumber, feed bags, fencing, and other materials for customers Operate cash register and process sales transactions Stock shelves and maintain clean, organized displays Help receive freight and unload deliveries Answer customer questions and provide product recommendations Cut lumber, chain, rope, wire, or other materials as needed Maintain cleanliness and safety in the lumber yard and store Monitor inventory and notify management of low stock Assist customers with carrying purchases to vehicles Support seasonal departments and general store operations Qualifications Retail or customer service experience preferred Experience with hardware, lumber, farming, pet food, or feed products is a plus Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds regularly Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic math and cash handling ability Forklift experience is a plus (training may be provided) Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required

Pay:

$17.00 - $18.50 per hour
