Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling transactions and assisting with sales. Your ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive shopping experience will be crucial in driving sales and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving any issues that arise. Assist in merchandising products to create appealing displays that enhance the shopping experience. Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and store displays. Stock shelves as needed, ensuring products are readily available for customers. Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance on best practices in retail sales. Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations during transactions. Exhibit strong phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries over the phone. Requirements Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members. Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to better serve our diverse customer base. Familiarity with merchandising techniques and product displays is a plus. Basic math skills necessary for cash handling and retail transactions.
