Back of House Team Member

The Back of House Team Member at Parilya ensures every dish starts with perfectly prepped ingredients and the kitchen stays clean and organized. This role is responsible for both production prep and dishwashing. You will handle raw meats and fresh vegetables with care to prepare ingredients for service, while also keeping the dish station clean and running smoothly throughout your shift. Production & Prep Prepare and portion raw meats, including marinating, trimming, and seasoning according to recipes. Wash, peel, chop, and portion fresh vegetables and ingredients to keep stations stocked. Follow recipes and prep lists precisely for consistency in flavor and portion size. Monitor prep inventory and communicate shortages or expiring products to management. Label all items clearly with product name, date, and initials, following proper rotation (FIFO). Maintain a clean and organized prep station, sanitizing surfaces and equipment throughout your shift. Dishwashing & Kitchen Support Operate the dish station efficiently, ensuring all dishes, pots, and utensils are cleaned and stored. Assist with deep cleaning kitchen equipment, including prep tables, sinks, and shelving. Keep the dish pit clean and dry, sweeping and mopping to prevent slips. Support the line or other areas when production is complete and dish duties are under control. Food Safety & Sanitation Follow all food safety protocols, including proper handwashing and preventing cross contamination. Store raw meats separately and correctly, following temperature guidelines. Monitor and record refrigerator and freezer temperatures; report issues to management. Follow proper thawing, cooling, and labeling procedures. Team Communication & Support Communicate clearly with line cooks and management about prep progress and supply needs. Assist with catering and large event preparation as needed. Step into other support roles, such as basic line assistance, when needed. Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are equally valued. Ability to follow recipes and instructions with attention to detail. Basic food safety knowledge or willingness to learn. Comfortable working with raw meats and fresh ingredients. Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks. Reliability and punctuality, with commitment to showing up for scheduled shifts. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift). Work in a warm kitchen environment with exposure to water, steam, and cleaning chemicals. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 lbs). Hands in contact with water and cleaning solutions frequently; gloves provided. Work hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
