The Opportunity We are looking for a mastery-level Lead Technician who is ready to earn at the top of the market and play a leadership role in our shop. This is not a supervisory desk job•you will wrench, diagnose, and produce alongside your team while also helping direct the flow of work and mentor the technicians around you.
Compensation:
$40•55 Flat Rate Hour, based on experience and ability. In addition, Lead Techs receive a monthly bonus tied to the total flat rate hours produced by all technicians in the shop•when the shop wins, you win.What You'll Do PRIMARY:
Lead Shop Production:
Manage the effective flow of work through the shop. In partnership with the General Manager, assign sold repairs and services to technicians to maximize completed billed hours. Answer technician questions and remove obstacles that slow production. Your monthly bonus is directly tied to what the whole shop produces•so your leadership has real upside. Produce at aHigh Level:
Lead Techs are working foremen. You are expected to complete a minimum of 40 flat rate hours per week yourself, with excellence, precision, and integrity. Diagnose at aMastery Level:
Serve as the go-to diagnostic resource for the shop. Perform multi-point vehicle inspections and use a structured diagnostic process to correctly identify vehicle needs. Own the hard ones. Partner with Office to Drive Sales withIntegrity:
Inspect every vehicle and communicate needed repairs and services to advisors and customers clearly and honestly. At times you will speak directly with customers to explain vehicle condition and answer questions.Mentor and Develop Technicians:
Act as a coach and technical resource for the techs on your team. Help them complete difficult repairs, build their diagnostic skills, and increase their efficiency. Manage technician performance in partnership with the General Manager.SECONDARY

Perform QC inspections on completed vehicles in accordance with company procedures.Shop CleanlinessSafety:
Assist in keeping the shop area clean, safe, and free of hazards. Additional responsibilities and duties may be necessary based on the needs of the business. What We're Looking For 7 or more years of practical experience as an automotive technician in a professional repair facility. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage other technicians. Mastery-level knowledge of passenger automobile systems and components. Mastery-level diagnostic skill•including use of diagnostic trees, testing procedures, and scan tools•to accurately identify and repair customer complaints. Mastery-level mechanical repair and service skills across a broad range of makes and models. Ability to perform thorough multi-point vehicle inspections and accurately communicate findings. Must possess a valid US Driver's License and be insurable on the company's auto insurance policy. Ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Proficient in using computers, scan tools, diagnostic software, and shop management systems. Ability to lift 50+ lbs without assistance and perform the physical demands of shop work, including standing, bending, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling.
