Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts (6-2:30) Candidates who accept an offer are required to complete a background check and drug test before they start. About the Role We're hiring a dependable and detail-oriented Tool Room/Extrusion Operator with strong mechanical aptitude; responsible for ensuring optimum quality, reviewing production reports, and meeting objectives in a team environment. This role centers on operating high-precision extrusion equipment to produce custom plastic profiles, while maintaining a safe and clean work area.
Your Tasks:
Tool Room Focus Receive, store, return, and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and other industrial equipment as needed Prepare for and complete periodic inventory counts of all tools and equipment Manage stock requisitions to replenish inventory as needed Ensure all shop machinery and equipment remain in proper working condition Report any damage, wear, or issues with tools, materials, and equipment Evaluate, monitor, and maintain storage and tooling to ensure optimal production performance Maintain proper documentation for all equipment Assist with changeovers and setups on the production line Maintain tooling in a ready state for upcoming changeovers Perform routine preventative maintenance on tooling Promptly report equipment malfunctions, material issues, safety, and quality concerns to the coordinators Use computers and ERP inventory management systems in accordance with company processes Comply with company personnel policies, safety policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices Contribute to special projects and assignments Operator Focus Operate an extrusion process for high-precision custom plastic profiles Perform initial line setup and changeovers according to the posted schedule Complete all online, QC, and production data reporting accurately and in detail Blend materials and load hoppers to meet product specifications and order requirements Perform mechanical and physical testing per product specifications and quality requirements using calipers and other measurement tools Maintain and repair extrusion line equipment, tools, and work areas as scheduled or as needed Maintain order and cleanliness in all work areas using 5S and LEAN manufacturing methods Communicate and cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency, and safety metrics Your required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years as an extrusion operator, experience with tool and die is a plus Mechanical background required, experience with plastic extrusion equipment, precision measurement devices, or computerized control systems preferred. Experience working with tool design and delicate die construction and understanding of machining principles required. Experience in manufacturing environment Tow motor experience Strong mathematical aptitude Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with quality control; ISO experience preferred Participation in Six Sigma or Lean projects is a plus Strong commitment to continuous improvement Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast paced environment Detail oriented Flexible and dedicated, with the ability to support multiple processes Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to change Self-directed, goal-oriented, and customer-focused mindset Reliable and punctual Team player with a willingness to learn new processes Ability to develop solutions to improve production and efficiency Prior project experience preferred
