David Moulton, Job Description We are seeking a retail associate with a passion for local and handmade goods, and excellence in customer service. This position has the potential for rapid growth into a buying role. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or interest in inventory management and purchasing merchandise in the cards, gifts, and household goods categories. Pay rate commensurate with experience. About Us West Coast Provisions is a small, specialty market located in the Northwest Crossing neighborhood in Bend. The store occupies roughly 1,700 square feet and offers a curated selection of groceries, wine, beer, household staples, prepared foods, and unique home goods and gifts, with a particular focus on artisan products from Oregon and surrounding states. We hand select for flavor, ingredients, production methods and aesthetics and aim to provide shoppers an opportunity to discover and taste the best products from up and down the west coast. Bringing quality and convenience to community members is core to our mission and exceptional customer service is at the heart of everything we do. About You As an associate, you will partner closely with management on many aspects of the business. You will have accountability for store operations during your shift and will help shape the store's direction, providing recommendations based on your observations and customer feedback. We're looking for a motivated, reliable individual who:- Has a passion for customer service and delivering an exceptional experience for guests
- Has an interest in and/or knowledge of locally and regionally produced goods
- Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovates to achieve great results
- Displays a strong understanding and commitment to West Coast Provisions' mission
- Is interested in working at least 3 shifts per week.
- Is able to work both opening and closing shifts; is available on weekends
- Self-driven with a keen eye for detail, cleanliness, and quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Product
- Build and maintain product knowledge in order to provide thoughtful and well-informed product recommendations to customers Operations
- Operate the retail store, including but not limited to POS, cash handling, receiving, stocking, and cleaning.
- Store hours are 8a - 8p, 7 days / week, year-round. Closed Christmas Day, shortened hours on July 4th, Thanksgiving, and New Years Day.
- Maintain store appearance and safety.
- Ability to work on your own and manage your own time effectively. Sales
- Establish rapport and provide a quality experience for customers visiting the store. Requirements
- Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age (in accordance with Oregon state liquor sales laws)
- Upon hiring, must carry an OLCC permit or complete server's training in order to sell wine, beer and cider.
- Accurate cash handling experience.
- Must have the ability to work on Holidays and weekends.
- Previous retail experience.
- Two professional references. Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred; Bachelor's degree considered an asset.
- Experience in a retail environment.
- Stellar communication skills.
- Proven ability to multitask, coordinate, observe, and make decisions in a detail-oriented manner.
