The club offers open play, court reservations, clinics, tournaments, events, private group activities, and a strong member experience. Our goal is to make ACE the preferred pickleball destination in the Downingtown area for individuals, families, local businesses, corporate teams, and community organizations. Role Summary The Sales & Marketing Associate will be responsible for increasing club memberships, building community awareness, developing corporate membership opportunities, and creating partnerships with local businesses and organizations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, promoting local businesses, attending community events, and helping grow a membership-based club. The primary focus of this role is to drive new member sign-ups through local outreach, corporate partnerships, community engagement, referral programs, events, and business-to-business relationship building. Key Responsibilities 1. Membership Growth The Sales & Marketing Associate will actively support membership growth by: Generating new membership leads. Following up with prospective members. Promoting club membership options to individuals, families, and groups. Inviting prospects to visit the club, attend events, or try introductory programs. Supporting new member conversion from trials, events, referrals, and walk-ins. Helping communicate the value of ACE memberships and the benefits of indoor pickleball. 2. Community Outreach Build strong relationships within the Downingtown and surrounding local community, including: Local residents and families. Schools and colleges. Senior communities. HOAs and apartment communities. Churches, temples, and community groups. Township and recreation departments. Youth sports organizations. Wellness and fitness groups. Local nonprofit organizations. The goal is to increase awareness of ACE Pickleball Club and make the club a recognized part of the local community. 3. Corporate Membership Development Develop relationships with local businesses and corporate organizations to promote: Club memberships. Employee wellness programs. Team-building events. Private company pickleball events. Recurring employee group play. Corporate leagues or tournaments. Holiday parties and social events. The associate will identify target companies, connect with HR leaders, office managers, business owners, and leadership teams, and help convert corporate interest into memberships, events, and recurring group participation. 4. Local Business Collaboration Create marketing partnerships with local businesses to drive awareness and membership growth.
Potential partnership opportunities may include:
Cross-promotions. Referral partnerships. Co-branded events. Member discount programs. Local business appreciation events. Health and wellness partnerships. Restaurant and café collaborations. Real estate and apartment community partnerships. Physical therapy, chiropractic, and sports medicine partnerships. The role will focus on creating win-win partnerships that help ACE gain visibility while also supporting local businesses. 5. Event Marketing & Lead Generation Support and promote club events designed to attract new members, such as: Open houses. Friends & Family events. Beginner pickleball sessions. Corporate demo days. Community appreciation events. Local business networking events. Member referral events. Tournaments and social play events. Local Education organisation Local Health Network organisation Responsibilities include promoting events, inviting guests, managing outreach lists, supporting attendance, and following up with prospects after each event. 6. Marketing Execution Assist with local marketing activities, including: Distributing flyers and promotional materials. Visiting local businesses and community centers. Supporting social media content ideas. Taking photos and short videos during club events. Posting approved promotions in local groups where appropriate. Coordinating with chambers of commerce and local networking groups. Maintaining an outreach calendar. Tracking leads and follow-up activity. 7. Lead Tracking & Reporting Maintain organized tracking of outreach activity and sales progress, including: Businesses contacted. Community organizations contacted. Membership leads generated. Corporate membership opportunities. Event leads and attendees. Follow-up status. Membership conversions. Partnership opportunities. Provide weekly updates to management on outreach activity, lead pipeline, memberships generated, and upcoming opportunities. Required Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate should have: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, outgoing, and professional personality. Ability to confidently approach local businesses and community groups. Sales, marketing, hospitality, fitness, sports, or customer service experience preferred. Strong follow-up and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Comfort using email, phone, spreadsheets, and basic CRM or tracking tools. Passion for community building, fitness, recreation, or pickleball. Local Downingtown / Chester County area knowledge is a plus. Suggested Monthly Target New membership leads generated: 50-75 per Month Local businesses contacted: 50-75 per Month Corporate membership opportunities created: 10-15 per Month Community partnerships developed: 4-6 per Month Events promoted or supported: 2-4 per Month New members influenced by outreach: 15-25 per month Corporate/private events booked: 2-4 per Month Follow-up calls/emails completed: 100+ per week
Compensation Structure:
Hourly + Performance Bonus Hourly compensation @ $17 to 22 + Performance Bonus on membership Sign-off. Bonus for new memberships generated. Bonus for private/corporate events booked.
