You'll wait on customers, answer questions about products, offer assistance finding items, restock shelves, running the Square POS cash register and EBT check out device. Schedule is 9-3 on weekdays and 9-5 on weekends. Punctuality is required. This role reports to the Inventory Manager. This position is good for high school students on summer break, parents with school-age children, retirees interested in additional part-time income. Responsibilities
  • Greet customers, help them feel comfortable at the Farm Store. Offer baskets/buckets for carrying items and carts for shopping.
  • Answer customer questions, help them find products. Explain how products can be used, where they are sourced, what ingredients are in them.
  • Ensure the shelves, coolers, freezers, and grab-and-go cases are stocked. Restock with backstock. First in, first out. Pull any out of date items or "bad" produce and report to manager for inventory tracking.
  • Follow checklists for Opening and Closing procedures, cash handling policies, cleaning.
  • Wait on customers, scan items correctly, ensure accuracy in checking out customers, give accurate change if customer pays in cash.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and sanitation protocols across all operations
  • Work independently when needed (repackaging items, weighing out items, cleaning, etc) and work in a team setting - usually 2 people on shift at a times. Skills Required
  • Make change, give appropriate change to customers.
  • Customer service, be polite and respectful to customers.
  • Familiarity with farm-fresh products, understanding of care and quality when buying local produce, meat, dairy, and more.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a standing position for extended periods
  • Ability to use SOPs/checklists for packaging/labeling, and cleaning/sanitation Preferred
  • Food Safety Handler training
  • Experience in inventory control, food production processes, and kitchen management systems
  • Food preservation experience (e.
g., dehydrating, freeze drying, vacuum-sealing, canning)
Pay:
$8.00 - $14.00 per hour
