Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support in an optical setting. You will assist with various tasks related to patient interactions, optical sales, and maintaining medical records, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients. Duties Greet patients and assist them with their needs upon arrival. Gather and record patient information, including medical history and vital signs. Assist with the selection of eyewear and provide recommendations based on individual needs. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations. Support the optometrist during examinations by preparing necessary equipment and instruments. Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage. Handle sales transactions and manage inventory of optical products. Collaborate with the team to ensure a clean and organized work environment. Qualifications Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred to effectively communicate with patients and staff. Optical experience in selling and fitting glasses Familiarity with medical records management is essential for maintaining accurate documentation. Understanding of physiology can enhance patient interactions and care. Experience in senior care or pediatrics is a plus, as it helps cater to diverse patient needs. Sales experience in retail settings is beneficial for assisting customers effectively. Proficiency in retail math to manage transactions accurately. Previous laboratory or optical experience is advantageous but not required. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
