We are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, self-motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team. Sewing knowledge is required. This is a part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility for additional hours after summer. Afternoon/evening and Saturday availability is required. Pay starts at $15-$20/hour depending on experience, with opportunity for growth from there. This position does not include benefits. This is an active retail position that includes standing for long periods, cutting fabric, restocking merchandise, cleaning/resetting classrooms, assisting customers throughout the day, and learning new products and sewing technology regularly.

Responsibilities:

Assist customers with fabric, notions, patterns, machines, and project ideas Demonstrate and sell Husqvarna Viking and Pfaff sewing and embroidery machines Learn machine features and confidently explain options and benefits to customers Operate the POS system and handle transactions accurately Cut and measure fabric accurately Receive, organize, and restock inventory Maintain store cleanliness and visual merchandising Answer questions about classes, machines, and products Create a welcoming and knowledgeable customer experience

Qualifications:

Sewing knowledge is required Confidence helping customers with sewing-related questions Willingness to continue learning more about sewing, quilting, embroidery, and machine technology Previous retail or customer service experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment
