Full Job Description Duties:
Customer Assistance and Sales:
Car salespeople guide customers through the vehicle purchasing process, helping them select cars that match their needs, preferences, and budget. They explain vehicle features, performance, warranties, and financing options, and may demonstrate cars through test drives to ensure customer satisfaction. They also negotiate prices and close sales in a professional and ethical manner.
Product Knowledge:
Sales personnel must maintain up-to-date knowledge of all vehicles in inventory, including specifications, engine types, fuel efficiency, colors, and optional features.
Administrative Duties:
Completing accurate paperwork is essential. This includes sales contracts, financing applications, and registration documents. Salespeople also maintain records of customer interactions and sales data.
Customer Relationship Management:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers is key. Salespeople follow up post-sale to ensure satisfaction, encourage repeat business, and maintain positive reviews for the dealership.
Showroom and Inventory Management:
Duties include keeping the sales area organized, ensuring vehicles are displayed neatly, and assisting with showroom setup and promotional displays.
Professional Skills and Attributes:
Successful car salespeople demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and persuasive skills. They are persistent, resilient, and maintain integrity and respect in all interactions. A valid driver's license and, in some cases, prior sales experience are required.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a receptionist or secretary preferred
- Familiarity with office procedures and equipment
- Proficiency in using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
- 2 years of sales.
