Job Summary Join our vibrant team as a Barista + Shop Clerk, where you'll be the friendly face behind the counter, crafting delicious beverages and providing exceptional customer service. This dynamic role combines the art of coffee making with retail duties, ensuring our guests enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and high-quality products. You'll be responsible for preparing coffee and food items, managing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean, organized café environment. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items with attention to quality and presentation Operate POS systems such as Clover POS efficiently for sales transactions, cash handling, and order processing Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, answering questions, and ensuring their needs are met promptly Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in all food preparation and serving areas Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and organize merchandise on the shop floor Handle cash register operations accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for transactions Support food handling procedures, including food safety protocols and proper food preparation techniques Our shop is geared toward local and local sourcing. We strongly encourage all employees to learn about each vendor to ensure product knowledge and increased sales Skills Proven experience as a barista or in a similar café environment with strong coffee-making skills Familiarity with POS systems such as Clover POS or Aloha/ Micros POS for efficient sales processing Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude Strong time management abilities to handle multiple tasks during busy periods Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling, and basic math for cashiering and retail math calculations Food handlers and TABC certifications required within 2 weeks of hire Ability to perform light food preparation and maintain cleanliness in food service areas Effective communication skills to engage with customers and team members confidently
