Job Description

Assists and oversees rentals of The Navasota Center. Performs other duties as assigned by Parks and Recreation Manager, meets delivery, catering and other event personnel for setup of rental event; is available to answer questions about facility; supervises setup and breakdown of facility; supervises activities during rental to assure that all building policies are followed. Responsible for ensuring facility is clean at all times.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS 1.
Reports to: Work is performed under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Manager. 2.
Directs:
This is a non-supervisory position.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Will unlock building and gates for rental at contracted time; will allow caterers, florists, and other personnel access to the building for the purpose of preparing for the event; may set up tables and chairs if needed; will be available to answer questions from renter or other assistants; will check area prior to rental ascertain that building and grounds are in good condition; will attempt to rectify any area that is not in good condition. During the rental, the building attendant will check on activity from time to time to be certain that all rental policies are being followed; attendant will answer telephone during the rental; may be asked to perform light clerical duties as needed. Shall supervise cleaning of hall so that building is not damaged; shall assess any damage done by the renting party, the time of conclusion of the event, and report this information to the Parks and Recreation Manager; will secure facility and grounds after all individuals have left. Ensure center is clean and presentable at all times. Other Important Duties Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Skill/Ability to: Skill to communicate in a customer-friendly and helpful manner. Ability to follow written and oral directions; establish and maintain effective working relationships; communicate effectively and tactfully with the public; obtain and retain eligibility for bonding; read warning signs, labels and devices. Lift and carry 30 pounds and push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds of tables and chairs on carts. Sit and stand for extended periods of time while filing or supervising rental. Be responsible for securing building properly at conclusion of rental event; be capable of performing all duties alone, safely, and without assistance due to nature of job and limited personnel manning. Ability to perform various cleaning duties as assigned.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
High school graduation or GED. A minimum of one year of experience in a customer service function providing service and/or information to customers.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED
Appropriate Texas Driver License. American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED • Preferred •
