BUDTENDER
Reports to: Store Manager - Fredericksburg, VA Job Summary The Budtender is a retail fulfillment and customer service professional responsible for creating an outstanding experience for customers in a regulated online-order, in-store pickup environment. In this role, you'll assist customers with product questions both in person and through online channels, accurately fulfill orders placed through our website, and guide customers through the checkout process when they arrive to pick up their order. Every interaction should reflect THE Dispensary's commitment to education, professionalism, and care. What You'll Do Customer Experience Greet and engage customers in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner when they arrive for pickup Respond to customer product questions and inquiries both in person and through online channels Educate customers on products and make personalized recommendations suited to their needs Answer product and store questions confidently and accurately Inform customers of current promotions, discounts, and special offers Provide customer feedback and insights to store leadership Order Fulfillment Review and accurately fulfill online orders placed through the website in a timely manner Locate, prepare, and pack online orders to 100% quality and accurate fulfillment, building customer trust and loyalty Retrieve and stage merchandise from inventory to prepare orders for customer pickup Ensure all orders are complete, correctly packaged, and ready before the customer arrives Properly organize, stock, and fulfill inventory Unload inbound shipments, sort merchandise, and process into received inventory Place special orders as needed Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout the fulfillment process Transactions & Compliance Process customer pickups and complete checkout transactions accurately using the store's point-of-sale system Verify customer identification and ensure full compliance with state laws and company regulations Handle cash and electronic payments accurately and maintain accountability for assigned cash drawers Process returns and exchanges in accordance with company procedures Follow loss prevention procedures and promptly report suspected theft, fraud, safety concerns, or policy violations Store Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment Perform general cleaning and maintenance of sales floors, product displays, restrooms, break rooms, and office areas Stay current on new products, services, and promotions Team & Culture Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment Work shifts at Fredericksburg, VA store location based on operational needs Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and compliance standards at all times Perform other duties as assigned What You Bring Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills Strong customer service instincts with the ability to assist customers both in person and online Ability to quickly learn merchandise, point-of-sale, and order management systems Ability to work with technology including Android devices, PCs, and other platforms Accuracy in weighing product, fulfilling orders, labeling, and inventory management is paramount Ability to manage multiple tasks while paying close attention to detail Sharp attention to detail and accuracy, especially in a fulfillment environment Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Professionalism and composure in a fast-paced, regulated environment Schedule & Availability Flexible availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays May be scheduled for opening, mid, or closing shifts Must be available to work at Fredericksburg, VA store location as needed Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and walking Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Must pass all required background checks Must remain compliant with all legal and company regulations Must maintain confidentiality of customer information, pricing, and internal company practices Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Two or more years of retail or fulfillment experience preferred Compensation & Benefits Weekly payroll periods On the job training provided Employee discount Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Short-Term Disability Insurance after 90-day introductory period (full-time employees only) Paid time off after completion of 90-day introductory period (full-time employees only) About THE Dispensary THE Dispensary is the largest hemp-derived cannabinoid dispensary in the nation, on a mission to educate and break the stigma around cannabis — professionally and safely.
