The Shift Lead will play a pivotal role in supervising staff and maintaining store standards. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills within a fast-paced, compliant cannabis retail environment, contributing to the growth and success of our team. Duties Supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures Manage break schedules for budtenders on shift Lead and motivate retail staff to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, and ensure accurate cashiering procedures Reconcile registers and do cash pickups Assist with onboarding and training new employees Implement promotional activities to increase sales Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations related to cannabis sales Participate in regular team meetings to communicate store policies, updates, and performance expectations Monitor store cleanliness, safety standards, and organizational protocols Qualifications Proven management or supervisory experience in retail sales or similar environments Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus Proficiency in POS systems and retail math Experience with cashiering and cash handling practices Knowledge of retail sales strategies, pricing, merchandising, and marketing techniques Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting with multiple priorities Organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control and store presentation Experience in employee orientation and training & development Familiarity with store management, shift management, and administrative tasks is preferred Strong interpersonal skills including phone etiquette and customer service excellence This role is ideal for candidates passionate about the cannabis industry who are eager to lead a team while ensuring compliance and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
