JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet and interact with customers. Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise. Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for customers' needs. Answer customers questions about merchandise and assist customers with purchase decisions. Accurately complete sales using the POS system according to established procedures. Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale. Stock and rotate product. Assist in keeping the store clean. Assemble and organize products and displays. Assist customers with loading and unloading products as needed. Process returns and exchanges. Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills. Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office. Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently. Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds. Professional appearance and demeanor. Proven track record of being dependable and reliable. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Commitment to excellence & high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a retail setting Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies.
SCHEDULE
This is a part time position; 16 - 32 hours per week (schedule may vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$17.25 - $19.80/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, part-time employees are eligible for: Medical insurance (100% employer-paid for employee coverage.
