Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Understands customer needs and assists them in determining appropriate products and services. Able to tint and mix paint, stain, and color match to fulfill customer orders, ensuring accurate recording to accounts. Assist customers in the color selection process and is able to articulate the features and benefits of different paint lines. Ensure the presentation of the show room, color decision area and sundry shelving are clean and organized. Stocks shelves, sets up displays, cleans store equipment, load/unload trucks. Completes sales transactions accurately. Follows all cash handling and safety and security policies during shift. Understands and applies all store standards, procedures and policies. Provides the highest degree of customer service, assisting multiple customers at a time, with a sense of urgency and follow through. Acts with integrity and honesty maintaining a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events. - Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to read, comprehend, write and communicate clearly Ability to understand and communicate technical information to customers in an understandable format Learn mix procedures and tint product with accuracy.
Learn the basics of paint technology, including color matching, primers, stains and decorative painting techniques. Ability to act with a customer comes first attitude, fulfilling their needs with the correct product. Basic math skills, with the ability to read and write paint color formulas accurately. Basic understanding of sundry items. Ability to work as a part of a team Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment Bilingual preferred
- Physical Requirements This position is required to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion. It may assist with handling drums of material excess of 100 lbs. A sales associate will spend approximately 45% standing, 45% walking and 10% stooping, climbing and kneeling. The position is required to tint paint, therefore must have good color perception. The employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone. They must also be able to operate a hand truck and/or material handling equipment in stores that have such equipment. In stores where employees may be required to make deliveries, the employee must be able to drive a car or van. This position must be able to work all schedules hours as needed.
