Superintendent, Gearbox Repair Operations

We're partnering with an industrial services organization that specializes in gearbox rebuilds, rotating equipment repair, field service support, and maintenance solutions for heavy industrial customers. The company is seeking a hands-on Superintendent to oversee gearbox rebuild operations at a facility located approximately 20 miles northwest of Birmingham, Alabama. This leadership role is focused on managing shop operations, leading technicians, troubleshooting rotating equipment issues, and ensuring high-quality rebuild and repair work from teardown through return-to-service.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee gearbox teardown, inspection, repair, rebuild, and testing operations Manage technicians, shop workflow, and daily production priorities Troubleshoot gearbox and rotating equipment issues Work with bearings, gearing, tolerances, alignments, and mechanical repair processes Support repair evaluations and quoting activities Ensure safety, quality, and operational efficiency standards are maintained Coordinate projects to meet customer timelines and expectations

Qualifications:

1+ years of management or supervisory experience Strong technical knowledge of industrial gearboxes and rotating equipment Experience in industrial repair, machining, or rebuild environments preferred Ability to lead technicians and manage workflow in a fast-paced environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation is highly negotiable based on experience Typical compensation up to $150,000, with flexibility for exceptional candidates Relocation assistance available if needed Long-term leadership opportunity with a growing industrial services organization
