Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to help lead our retail operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive retail management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves helping oversee daily store activities, managing staff, and ensuring the store meets its sales and operational goals. Candidates with a background in grocery or general retail, along with excellent organizational and communication skills, will thrive in this position. The Assistant Store Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining a positive shopping environment and driving business growth. Duties include but are not limited to Assisting the Manager with the following: Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and developing team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer service. Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, stocking, and POS transactions. Must be familiar with gas pumps. Manage employee scheduling, shift management, and payroll processing to ensure optimal staffing levels. Implement effective sales strategies, monitor sales performance, and utilize retail math to meet revenue targets. Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain high standards of phone etiquette and customer service. Skills Strong leadership qualities with proven supervising or assistant manager experience in retail settings.
Excellent communication skills:
bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Must be proficient in English. Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS software, and retail management tools. Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and pricing strategies to optimize sales. Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in employee training & development, recruiting, and team management. Competence in retail math for sales management and budgeting purposes. Knowledge of grocery store operations or general retail sales is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control and administrative tasks. Ability to handle cash accurately while maintaining professionalism in customer interactions.
