Industrial Metal Supply, founded in 1948, is a leading metals distributor with seven locations serving California and Arizona. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an IMS store. Ensures that the highest quality standards and exceptional customer service are maintained and provided at all times. Collaborates with the Manager of Store Operations and Human Resources to train store employees and managers of store operations. Contributes to the maintenance of Company property, the cleanliness and organization of stores, and the products sold within. Performs related work as required.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Makes every effort to exceed customers' expectations, ensuring customers' complete satisfaction.
- Develops and maintains an entrepreneurial spirit throughout the store and creates manager specials, etc.
- Assist the Human Resources Department in hiring, training, and developing store employees.
- Effectively manages the employee development process through mentoring, setting goals and expectations, coaching and counseling as required, and performing employee appraisals and evaluations.
- Develops and monitors individual employee training plans to continually increase knowledge and experience.
- Administers employee staffing schedule. Recommends routine and seasonal hours of operations.
- Assists with the upkeep and preservation of Company assets, including buildings, all equipment, and employee amenities, to include adherence to preventive maintenance guidelines and quality requirements for measuring devices, tools, equipment, and safety.
- Effectively manages store inventory and product inventory accuracy and reports findings to purchasing for resolution.
- Displays and markets retail items in a manner that promotes the customer's attention and interest in Company products, to encourage and improve sales.
- Keeps store products well organized, clearly identified and properly priced.
- Surveys customers to identify potential new products before communicating these ideas to Purchasing, the Manager of Store Operations and the General Manager.
- Manages the store ordering process, including responding to inquiries, providing quotations, order fulfillment and related tasks.
- Motivates and coaches store employees to create a positive, upbeat atmosphere with the goal of improving the customer experience.
- Manages the store to meet budget requirements.
- Sets goals and sales targets for individual salespeople.
- Targets profitability through daily and monthly reviews
- Establishes and maintains criteria for competitively pricing Company goods and services to specific markets.
- Administers cash, daily balance sheets, cash register records, and bank deposits.
- Manages the store safety program, with the well-being of customers and employees in mind.
- Coaches employees on safety protocol, opportunities and any customer or employee accident reporting process.
- Prioritizes the store workflow with respect to receiving goods and services directly or through company transfers, stocking of and store items, pulling orders, processing orders, and the delivery of orders.
- Drives on company business.
- Maintains customer feedback ratings over the minimum required of 4.7.
- Work at least one Saturday per month.
- Performs other duties as required.
