Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Manager with a strong background in diesel mechanics to oversee daily operations of our service shop. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on diesel experience, 3 years Supervisory experiance, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
Directly schedule work for and supervise all shop staff. Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems and ensure all repair work is performed in compliance with DOT Regulations and all internal policies. Schedule and maintain all company equipment and vehicles for services, cleanings and repairs and maintain service records Ensure that all repairs are performed in a timely fashion and recorded accurately Manage scheduling, parts ordering, and inventory control Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and observe all safety laws, policies and rules. Coding all Equipment invoices & turn in daily Pre-delivery yard prep and receive deliveries Welding and fabrication may be required. Selling of Used Equipment Overtime work may be required in this position. Qualifications A minimum of 5 years in diesel maintenance At least 3 years in supervision Must have familiarity with DOT regulations for Commercial Vehicles, Must have strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of vehicle systems Must possess excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills, as well as have the ability to influence and make decisions by applying independent judgment. Computer literacy Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, e-mail, texting Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening required by DOT Certification from Diesel Technical School is a plus Willingness to maintain availability for after-hours emergency service calls To perform this job successfully for Global Power Group, an individual must be able to: SHOP Organize Tasks for Review & Implement Daily Tasks Code Invoices Received in the Shop Track & Manage Equipment Maintenance Logs Track & Manage Equipment Repair Logs
