As a store manager, you will regularly exercise discretion in managing the store's overall operation. This includes supervising and directing the workforce, making staffing decisions such as hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling, ensuring customer satisfaction and product quality, managing the store's financial performance, and upholding safety and security standards. The incumbent is expected to embody and uphold Teaspoon's guiding principles in all actions and decisions.
Duties Leadership:
Set clear goals for the work group, develop organizational capability, and model collaborative work dynamics. Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events, ensuring smooth transitions to maintain store operations and set a positive example for the team. Foster a customer-first attitude by training and holding baristas accountable for delivering exceptional customer service. Drive the implementation of company programs through the development of action plans and direct motivation and instruction to the store team. Manage with integrity, honesty, and a commitment to promoting the culture, values, and mission of Teaspoon. Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate appropriate responsibilities and practices to the store team to ensure a smooth flow of operations. Provide coaching and direction to the store team, encouraging them to act and achieve operational goals. Constantly review the store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities.
Planning and Execution:
Develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, manage execution, and measure results. Monitor and manage store staffing levels to ensure barista development and talent acquisition, achieving and maintaining store operational requirements. Utilize existing tools to identify and prioritize communications, ensuring clear, concise, and accurate communication to the store team for effective operations.
Business Requirements:
Ensure adherence to applicable wage and hour laws for nonexempt partners and minors. Solicit customer feedback and proactively research local markets to understand customer and community needs. Utilize operational tools such as Scheduling Software, Monthly Status Report, Quarterly. Business Review, cash management, and inventory management to achieve operational excellence. Utilize management information tools and analyze financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance.
Barista Development & Team Building:
Actively manage the store team through regular performance assessments, feedback sessions, and goal setting. Challenge and inspire the store team to achieve business results. Ensure team members adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments through creative and effective methods. Utilize and demonstrate effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a positive team culture. Essential Physical Requirements Candidates must demonstrate the ability to: Operate a variety of machines, tools, and equipment as required for the job. Maintain visual acuity to make general observations regarding safety and accuracy of work. Remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 3 hours during work shifts. Stand, walk, stoop, and kneel as necessary to perform job duties. Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds intermittently and repetitively lift objects weighing 3 pounds to shoulder height. Utilize hand dexterity to grasp, finger, and reach items. Express or exchange information verbally as needed for job-related communication.
Additional Requirements:
Have a reliable method of transportation for catering events, bank runs, etc. Proficient in using email, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office. Positive and professional attitude. Strong communication skills with the ability to work cohesively with all levels of management, all departments, and all co-workers in a team environment.
