Retail Store Assistant Manager

Solstice is a family owned, resale clothing and costume store located in beautiful downtown Nevada City! Most of our employees have work with us for a long time and return to work our fun, fast paced, Halloween season each year. We have a fun time helping the community create their identities in costume. Solstice is also a buy /sell / trade store so you will have an active part in selecting merchandise for the store. Operations:

Support the manager in all operations and selling functions of a resale clothing and costume shop including Buying and Merchandising Provides constancy within the store by communicating policies and procedures to the staff to follow and holding them accountable to do so Liaising with the Manager and owner, communicating directives to staff taking all areas of the business into consideration Checking stock and supply levels and order when needed Making sure that health, safety, and employment regulations are being maintained Solving problems or dealing with difficulties as they arise when being the most senior staff on site Sales and inventory: Meeting sales goals by motivating, and mentoring store staff Responsible for obtaining or receiving merchandise, checking for accuracy, and pricing as directed Merchandising areas of the store as directed Social media and internet relations Work with staff to reduce loss Fostering a strong team: Assign daily tasks as directed, provide direct feedback, and hold team accountable for individual results and behaviors Ensuring staff provides excellent customer service at all times Help to train new and existing employees Motivating others to work together and meet goals Provides staff with to do lists daily in conjunction with the

Manager Requirements:

At least one year in retail experience at a supervisory level, preferably in fashion retail Be able to work a flexible schedule depending on the needs of the business including event nights and MUST work weekends. The intended schedule is Wednesday to Sunday Must have a working knowledge of retail and understand merchandizing and/or buying for used clothing or costumes Be fair, positive, and an example to your staff.
