Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, HSA, FSA Dependent Care, Voluntary Life, EAP, 401(k) Match Position Objective The Assistant Manager, Operations & Inventory is a critical leader within Schwazze's store team, accountable for ensuring operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and regulatory compliance at one of our highest-volume dispensaries. This role supports the Store Director in executing seamless daily operations while fostering a culture of integrity, excellence, and team accountability. As a key partner in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment, this individual leads back-of-house functions, oversees METRC and POS coordination, and ensures that every product entering or leaving the store is tracked with full accuracy and in accordance with state and Schwazze standards. Essential Functions Operational Leadership
- 30% Oversee daily store functions, including shift delegation, opening and closing duties, floor transitions, and maintenance coordination.
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness in all store areas, including compliance with Schwazze's visual standards and OSHA protocols. Provide support with secure cash handling procedures, register troubleshooting, and maintaining store technology functionality. Drive efficiency in eCommerce fulfillment and support same-day order execution for in-store and curbside transactions. Address facility issues swiftly and proactively coordinate with Facilities and IT. Inventory Management & Product Flow
- 30% Manage the full inventory lifecycle, from intake and manifest reconciliation to restocking and discrepancy resolution, ensuring accuracy in both METRC and POS.
Execute FIFO product rotation, monitor par levels, and oversee proper backroom organization for efficiency and compliance. Track product performance, aging inventory, and work with leadership to strategize markdowns, transfers, or promotions. Accurately import new packages into the POS system with Schwazze-compliant naming conventions and pricing standards. Lead weekly cycle counts and monthly inventory audits, ensuring compliance readiness and real-time accuracy. Compliance & Regulatory Integrity
- 20% Enforce and uphold all Colorado MED regulations and Schwazze SOPs across product storage, labeling, and tracking protocols.
Ensure full audit readiness by maintaining clean, compliant records for all inventory movement, including adjustments, transfers, and waste disposal. Support the Sales team in reporting on cash tip compliance procedures in accordance with Schwazze policy, ensuring proper handling and documentation. Conduct ongoing team training on inventory procedures, METRC workflows, and regulatory updates. Serve as a compliance role model and escalation point for issues related to tracking, accuracy, or regulatory risk. T eam Development & Leadership
- 15% Lead and develop Inventory Associates, providing training, coaching, and accountability to ensure performance and compliance excellence.
Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, supporting team morale, execution, and continuity of leadership on the floor. Partner with the Store Director and other Assistant Managers to support team huddles, staff communications, and performance feedback. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- 5% Liaise with Schwazze's central Inventory, Compliance, Supply Chain, and eCommerce teams to ensure store alignment with company-wide operations.
Provide insights on product velocity, discrepancies, and operational pain points to support continuous improvement and better inventory flow. Support new process rollouts, systems upgrades, and special projects at the store level with clarity and consistency. Please note that the percentage allocations are a general estimate and may vary based on business needs and priorities. Additional duties may be required as needed to support overall operations. Education and Experience 3+ years of experience in retail operations or inventory management; cannabis industry experience strongly preferred. 2+ years of team leadership or supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to manage people, process, and compliance simultaneously. Deep knowledge of METRC, inventory control processes, and compliance protocols in a regulated industry. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with POS systems (COVA preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and inventory management software. Must be 21+ and eligible to obtain and maintain a Colorado MED badge. Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel) Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more multiple times per day. Nights, Weekends, and Holidays are to be expected The schedule will vary depending on the needs of the business. Some travel between local store locations may be required.
