Epic Mountain Sports is a successful, family run sports shop in the heart of Winter Park, Colorado. As we enter our 18th winter season, Epic is looking to grow our team. Epic Mountain Sports is seeking a
FULL-TIME, YEAR-ROUND RETAIL MANAGER
This snow sports industry job is a fun, fast paced work environment that requires tons of guest interaction, unwavering teamwork and the ability to constantly adapt to fluid situations. We work hard, play hard and love where we live! This position will allow for a flexible schedule certain times of the year however the Retail Manager MUST be available to work weekends and holidays! A housing opportunity in downtown Winter Park will be available for the right candidate! The primary responsibilities of the Retail Manager include: Responsible for the hiring and onboarding of all new employees. Train and supervise employees, including POS, product knowledge of both soft goods and hardgoods. Guide employees in store policies, company standards and procedures, and develop new best practices. Receive and track incoming merchandise. Manage reorders, pricing and inventory control. Maintain store displays, signage, lighting, and fixtures. Create accessible, fresh, and eye-catching displays. Keep records of buying trends, customer inquiries and propose ideas of new and innovative products to increase business and keep with current and future trends. Responsible for working with vendors for new orders, attending buying shows and preparing purchasing budgets. Manage all customer comments and complaints and communicate quickly to manager to address needs. Oversee all aspects of retail store operations and work with rental manager to coordinate work schedules and staffing. Keep current on new industry products and trends and demonstrate knowledge of products. Assist as needed with Rental Teams. Providing exceptional customer service to all guests, including interacting in a genuine way, answering questions, solving problems and aiding in a more pleasant shopping experience. The ideal candidate for this position would: Have a basic knowledge of the snowsports industry and outdoor recreation Have an in-depth knowledge of POS systems Be extremely computer proficient, including Office Programs Provide superior customer service Have a passion about retail sales Previous experience managing a retail store (2 years preferred) Previous experience managing employees (2 years preferred) Merchandising and retail buying background a plus
