Operations Lead

The ReCONNstruction Center is a nonprofit, volunteer-run architectural salvage and reuse store in New Britain, CT. For over 20 years, we've kept usable building materials out of the landfill and made them accessible to the community. We are seeking a hands-on Operations Lead to help stabilize and grow daily operations while supporting our volunteer-driven model. What You'll Do Oversee day-to-day store operations during open hours Coordinate and support volunteer teams (salvage, sales floor, intake) Manage donation intake and material flow from arrival to sales floor Improve organization, layout, and merchandising to increase sales Maintain a safe, functional, and efficient workspace Support basic administrative needs (tracking, communication, scheduling) What We're Looking For Strong organizational and leadership skills Comfortable managing people in a volunteer-based environment Hands-on, problem-solving mindset Interest in reuse, sustainability, or building materials Ability to work in a fast-moving, sometimes chaotic environment Experience in retail, construction, nonprofit, or operations preferred Why This Role Matters This is a foundational role.
