Requirements Job Overview The research conducted by the Clinical Aging & Relational Emotion Science (CARES) Laboratory examines interpersonal emotional phenomena in connection with healthy aging across the lifespan. Current directions of the lab include: 1) understanding how we share, understand, and influence others' emotions in ways that affect their depressive symptoms and health, 2) how social and emotional processes go awry in neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders and contribute to depressive symptoms and health problems, and 3) interventions to influence social and emotional functioning to reduce depressive symptoms and health problems. The lab manager will be primarily responsible for coordinating an R00 from the National Institute on Aging focused on Interpersonal Emotion Regulation in dyads where one individual has dementia. The lab manager will also be responsible for various tasks that ensure the lab runs smoothly. In addition to conducting research, tasks include assisting with the development of lab infrastructure (e.g., setting up computers, developing internal data storage systems and lab manuals), supporting the lab community (e.g., facilitating lab communication and organizing lab events), and hiring and managing a team of undergraduate research assistants. The lab manager will report directly to the lab director, Dr. Casey Brown. Work Interactions The lab manager will interact with the principal investigator (PI), the PI's collaborators at other institutions, graduate and undergraduate students in the lab, research participants from the Georgetown University community and greater DC area, Psychology Department staff and faculty, and conference attendees in person as well as virtually. The lab manager reports to Dr. Casey Brown, Assistant Professor and PI of the lab, and volunteer/student research assistants report to the lab manager. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or Associate Degree and 1-2 years research experience in a psychology lab setting Highly detail-oriented, extremely organized, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and to manage and support a team. Preferred requirements and qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology or other related field Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as On-Campus . Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $17.95 - $26.84 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
