The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication, commercial kitchen equipment, food service industry requirements, and sheet metal manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for managing production schedules, quality control, shop personnel, inventory, safety compliance, and on-time project delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day operations of the sheet metal fabrication shop. Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate fabricators, welders, assemblers, and shop personnel. Coordinate production schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Review shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders for accuracy and manufacturability. Monitor workflow, labor utilization, and shop productivity. Ensure compliance with quality standards for custom food service equipment fabrication. Oversee fabrication of stainless-steel counters, cabinets, hoods, shelving, sinks, equipment stands, and other commercial kitchen components. Collaborate with engineering, project management, purchasing, and installation teams. Manage inventory levels, material purchasing requests, and shop supplies. Enforce OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and housekeeping standards. Track job costs, labor hours, and production performance metrics. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Qualifications 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience. 3+ years in a supervisory or management role within a fabrication or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication and commercial food service equipment fabrication. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication prints, and specifications. Experience with TIG welding, metal finishing, and assembly processes. Knowledge of food service industry standards, health department requirements, and NSF/UL-compliant fabrication practices. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills OSHA safety knowledge and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, welding operations, and fabrication equipment.
