Job Description
Job Summary BMR Suspension is the leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension products for late model Camaros, late model Mustangs, late model Challengers, and classic GM muscle cars. We are seeking a high-energy, intelligent Machine Shop Manager to help manage our manufacturing operations. We currently have (4) Haas CNC lathes with bar feeders, and we will be adding vertical machining centers and more lathes soon. Individual must be extremely well organized and must have a strong interest in performance automobiles. This position reports to the Operations Manager. Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage activities of personnel on multiple shifts to machine components for use in BMR Suspension products
- Ensure that machined components meet quality requirements
- Coordinate shop order schedule with internal manufacturing departments
- Create program files for new components
- Work with the Product Design Engineering department to develop components for new products
- Manage bar stock inventories and place bulk purchase orders
- Assist in the selection of new CNC machining equipment
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program
- Manage and order tooling and machining supplies
- Complete manufacturing or quality documents as required
- Other duties as requested by management Qualifications and Skills
- Must have 10+ years of prior machine shop experience
- Must have experience with both lathes and vertical machining centers
- Must be able to program simple parts for the lathe in G-code without software
- Must have a high school diploma
- Some college preferred
- Must be proficient with MS Excel and MS Word
- Must be a dynamic, high energy person (no slackers)
- Must be intelligent (IQ test will be given)
- Strong mechanical aptitude (written test will be given)
- Must have strong values
- Must pass a drug test
- No felony convictions
- Must have a valid driver license
- Must have a history of company loyalty
- Priority will be given to people who own and/or wrench on hot rods and race cars
