This position is responsible for on-site (field) management of discipline specific construction activities in accordance with the requirements of the contract between Jacobs and clients, and in accordance with quality, safety, and cost control standards. The incumbent has thorough knowledge of own subject area or discipline and basic knowledge of others and understands the objectives of the area and related regulatory and/or industry requirements and practices. He/she works independently to carry out complex activities. Work is guided by area or assignment objectives. This role may train new team members. Leadership Responsible for supervising meter readers, installation of new residential and commercial water meters as well as meter boxes. Gives direction regarding daily activities as well as project work. Monitors all service requests from customer service and assigns accordingly. Ensure that all requests are assigned, completed, and work orders are closed in a timely manner. Responsible for the installation of 2000 meters per contact year. Manages the Zero and Estimated read list. Supervise the work of employees to ensure adherence to client expectations, quality standards, deadlines, proper procedures, and correcting errors or problems. Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes. Recruit, interview, and select employees. Lead small projects and implement project wide changes. Evaluate employees' job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action. Train or instruct employees in job duties or company policies or arrange for training to be provided. Coordinate activities with other project supervisory personnel or with other work units or departments. Participate in the work of subordinates to facilitate productivity or to overcome difficult aspects of work. Make recommendations to management concerning such issues as staff decisions or procedural changes. Plan for or coordinate office services, such as equipment or supply acquisition or organization, disposal of assets, relocation, parking, maintenance, or security services. Conducts annual performance evaluations for all direct reports. Set goals and deadlines for the department. Technical Maintains the daily operations of the Meter readers. Use of Excel and Word for performance tracking and communication. Able to navigate Neptune 360 to monitor meter performance, analyzing zero and estimated reads to support data driven decisions. Ability to use the Tyler Munis Enterprise CMMS system to manage utility work orders. Responsible for documentation. Manages and communicates all documentation related issues to the department and project staff as well as the clients/customers. Answers questions, documents recommendations and implement corrective actions to address customer complaints and issues. Holds meetings, prepares and distribute appropriate communication documentation and performs follow-up to ensure that direct reports are fully informed of all new information related to procedures, customer needs and company-related issues, changes or actions. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Review records or reports pertaining to activities such as meter usage, customer billing, and/or backflow documentation. Prepare and issue work schedules, deadlines, and duty assignments for department staff. Interpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staff. Research, compile, and prepare reports, manuals, correspondence, or other information required by management or client. Analyze financial activities of departments and provide input into budget planning and preparation processes. Design, implement, or evaluate staff training and development programs, customer service and billing initiatives, or performance measurement criteria. Examine documents to verify adherence to requirements. Report maintenance or equipment problems to appropriate personnel. Prepare research or technical reports. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
