Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as a Body Shop Estimator/Assistant Manager, where your expertise will drive excellence in vehicle repairs and customer satisfaction. In this vital role, you will lead the estimation process for collision repairs, coordinate with technicians and customers, and support daily shop operations. Your automotive knowledge and leadership skills will ensure efficient workflow, accurate estimates, and top-tier service that keeps our customers coming back. Duties Prepare detailed auto repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software, ensuring accuracy for all collision and body work repairs Collaborate closely with technicians, mechanics, and service writers to develop repair plans for vehicles requiring body repair, mechanical work, or both Assist in managing daily shop operations, including scheduling appointments, overseeing workflow, and ensuring timely completion of repairs Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, suspension repairs, brake replacements, and transmission work to maximize customer value and shop revenue Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly, addressing concerns promptly, and maintaining positive relationships with clients Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all estimates and repairs performed Support the shop manager in training new team members and maintaining a safe, organized work environment Coordinate with insurance adjusters and claims representatives regarding estimate review, supplemental approvals, documentation requests, and repair authorization. Qualifications Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair processes Extensive knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, oil changes, tire services, diesel engine repairs, and auto body repair techniques Hands-on mechanic experience or familiarity with service technician roles is highly desirable Proficiency in auto estimating software combined with excellent customer service skills Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and transparency with customers Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with experience in automotive repair shops or collision centers Effective communication skills to liaise between customers, technicians, and management seamlessly Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to delivering high-quality automotive repairs while providing outstanding customer experiences. $55,722.17 - $78,000.00 per year
