Job Description

Organization Overview:
Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence (NEGACDV) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization and our mission is to support victims of domestic violence and their families through intervention, prevention & education. NEGACDV provides emergency shelter, crisis counseling, case management, support/educational groups, advocacy, therapy, Nurturing Parenting classes, life skills, criminal justice support, emergency legal advocacy, assistance completing safety plans and compensation claims, and information/referral. In addition, the agency operates a non-profit thrift store with proceeds supporting client services.
Role Summary:
The Resale Store Manager oversees the daily operations of the resale store and ensures its smooth and efficient functioning as a vital fundraising arm of NEGACDV. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Development, this position is responsible for supervising staff and volunteers, maintaining the physical store environment, managing inventory and donations, and providing excellent customer service. The Store Manager also drives marketing strategies and sales plans to meet financial goals.
Reporting Structure:
The Director of Communications and Development supervises this position. The Resale Store Manager supervises the Store Leads, Store Associates, and Volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the resale store, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
  • Oversee the processing of donated items. This includes sorting, hanging, tagging, steaming, displaying, and timely disposal of donated items.
  • Monitor backdoor activity, maintain dumpster area, and schedule donation pickups.
  • Ensure the truck is maintained and in good working condition.
  • Identify facility maintenance issues and report to the Director of Communications and Development.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections to ensure a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and customers.
  • Ensure that new inventory is placed on the sales floor promptly.
  • Maintain the visual appeal of the resale store by ensuring that items are appropriately placed in their designated departments throughout the store and easily accessible.
  • Ensure donated items are properly priced based on brand and quality of item. Financial Oversight
  • Contribute to the development of annual revenue projections to meet financial goals.
  • Assist in the management of the store's monthly budget and maintain supply inventories.
  • Control petty cash and ensure appropriate expenditures with receipts. Reconcile petty cash monthly and submit reconciliation to the Director of Administration.
  • Ensure proper handling of sales transactions (cash and credit cards) in compliance with agency policies.
  • Provide financial updates to the Director of Communication and Development regarding sales progress and store performance.
  • Maintain awareness of daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and adjust operations accordingly. Staff Management
  • Supervise and provide ongoing support to store staff and volunteers.
  • Coordinate hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline of staff.
  • Support job-training program; assist and mentor participants.
  • Develop staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Promote a positive and professional team environment with clear communication and leadership.
  • Conduct staff meetings and provide feedback to improve morale and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies and personnel standards.
  • Report all misconduct concerns to the Director of Communication and Development and the Director of Administration. Marketing & Promotions
  • Drives the development of store-marketing campaigns and sales plans.
  • Provide input on sales trends, inventory flow, and promotion strategies. Ensure that holiday and seasonal inventory is aligned with local, regional, and national store strategies.
  • Implement daily, weekly, and monthly store promotions to boost sales and donations.
  • Maintain knowledge of resale and retail trends through reading, training, and webinars.
  • Leads social media and communication strategies for the store's visibility and brand.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma. Retail and management experience strongly preferred. Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to lift to 30lbs; this is a physical position that may require moving furniture and inventory to ensure appropriate merchandise layout.
  • Ability to drive a box truck.
