In this energetic role, the store assistant manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the store, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient operations, and strong team performance. This is a working manager position , meaning the Assistant Manager is expected to work regular shifts alongside team members while also overseeing store operations. The manager is an active part of daily store labor and plays a key role in maintaining efficient staffing levels and controlling labor costs. Key Responsibilities 1. Shift Leadership & Floor Coverage Work regular shifts in-store and actively participate in daily operations. Lead by example by preparing smoothies, serving customers, and maintaining store cleanliness. Provide coverage during peak hours to ensure efficient service and control labor costs. Open and close the store as scheduled. 2. Team Management Train new team members on product preparation, customer service standards, and store procedures. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to staff. Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and cleanliness standards. Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. 3. Scheduling & Labor Management Create and maintain weekly staff schedules. Ensure adequate coverage while controlling labor costs. Adjust staffing levels based on business demand. Coordinate shift coverage when employees call out. 4. Customer Experience Ensure every customer receives fast, friendly, and accurate service. Address customer concerns or complaints professionally and promptly. Maintain a welcoming and energetic store environment. 5. Store Operations Maintain store cleanliness and organization at all times. Monitor inventory levels and assist with product ordering. Ensure food safety standards and operational procedures are consistently followed. Maintain equipment and report maintenance issues promptly. 6. Cash Handling & Accountability Ensure accurate cash handling and register procedures. Assist with daily sales reporting and end-of-day closing procedures. To ensure consistent leadership presence and operational accountability, the Assistant Manager is required to maintain regular shift coverage throughout the week. The Assistant Manager must schedule and work shifts that include a mix of operational responsibilities, including opening, closing, and weekend coverage. Minimum Weekly Coverage Expectations The Assistant Manager is expected to work: At least one opening shift per week At least one closing shift per week At least one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) per week These requirements ensure that the Assistant Manager is actively engaged in all aspects of store operations and understands the challenges associated with each shift. Peak Hour Coverage Assistant Managers are expected to regularly work during the store's highest traffic periods , helping support staff, maintain service speed, and control labor costs. Leadership Presence During scheduled shifts, the Assistant Manager is expected to: Actively supervise and support team members. Assist in smoothie preparation and customer service. Maintain cleanliness and operational standards. Address customer concerns or operational issues as they arise. Scheduling Accountability The Assistant Manager is responsible for creating staff schedules that balance adequate coverage with responsible labor management. Manager shift assignments should not be limited only to low-traffic periods and must reflect active participation in core store operations. Qualifications Previous food service, retail, or hospitality experience preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, responsible, and customer-focused. Success in This Role A successful Store Assistant Manager will maintain a well-run store, lead by example on the floor, support the team, and help create a consistently positive experience for customers.
