Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Furniture Retail Store Supervisor to lead our store team to success! In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily store operations, motivate and develop staff, and ensure an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. Your leadership will drive sales growth, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold the highest standards of customer service. Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily store activities, ensuring smooth operations from opening to closing shifts. Manage and motivate a diverse team of sales associates, providing coaching, training, and development to enhance performance. Support the manager with inventory management processes including stock replenishment, stock control, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities. Handle all aspects of customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Support the manager with cashiering functions such as cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, pricing adjustments, and cashier training. Help manager with implementing marketing strategies within the store to promote products and increase foot traffic. Ensure compliance with safety policies, security procedures, and company standards for store cleanliness and organization. Manage scheduling to optimize staffing levels based on business needs; monitor employee performance through regular feedback sessions. Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate with suppliers for purchasing needs and inventory control. Support store marketing initiatives including promotions and visual merchandising to attract customers. Uphold excellent phone etiquette when interacting with customers or vendors over the phone. Skills Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience in retail environments with strong leadership capabilities. Exceptional communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual proficiency preferred for diverse customer interactions. Demonstrated expertise in retail math including sales management, pricing strategies, budgeting, and inventory control. Skilled in negotiation with vendors and team members to achieve optimal purchasing terms and sales outcomes. Proficient in POS systems, cash handling procedures, and general retail management tools. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively across stocking, merchandising, marketing, and administrative duties. Experience in recruiting, interviewing candidates, employee orientation, training & development programs. Knowledge of retail sales techniques including upselling and cross-selling strategies; familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store operations is a plus. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during shift management. Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork while maintaining high standards of customer service excellence.
