Great Scott's Stores | Star, Idaho About the Role Great Scott's is opening our newest and most ambitious location in Star, Idaho — a massive convenience and food store with a full food service kitchen, made-to-order mixed Redneck Sodas, soft serve, a drive-thru, and a trading post featuring locally made Idaho products. We're hiring a Store Manager now to be part of building this store from the ground up. This is a pre-opening hire. Our anticipated opening window is Fall 2026 (September-November), subject to construction and certificate of occupancy. If you're currently employed and don't want to leave your job to wait around, we'll work with you on your start date and notice timing as the opening gets closer. What the Pre-Opening Period Looks Like Before the Star store opens, you'll shadow our existing operations at our Eagle and North store locations. You'll learn how we run daily books, cash handling, vendor relationships, scheduling, food service, and store standards — and you'll help us hire and build the Star team. This isn't busywork. By the time we open the doors, you'll know this business.
Job description:
We are looking for a dynamic Store Manager who can set the tone for the store and leads the team in delivering the Great Scotts experience every day. This role is responsible for ensuring the store runs smoothly, employees are supported and held accountable, and customers consistently feel welcomed and taken care of. Store Managers balance leadership, operations, and business ownership. They oversee staffing, scheduling, training, merchandising, inventory, compliance, and financial accuracy while maintaining a clean, organized, and service-driven store environment. This role works closely with the Regional Manager to monitor performance, develop the team, and continually improve store operations. Key Responsibilities Lead daily store operations and maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment Set expectations for store standards, task completion, and professionalism, and ensure they are consistently followed Balance time between office responsibilities and working on the floor with the team Monitor store performance, including sales trends, ticket size, and labor performance Create and publish employee schedules that support store needs and stay within labor targets Hire, onboard, and train new employees and ensure training tools are used consistently Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and accountability to team members Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with employees and complete required performance reviews Build a positive team culture where employees feel supported, respected, and informed Handle employee accountability, disciplinary conversations, and terminations when necessary Ensure store standards are upheld, including cleanliness, merchandising, stocking, and organization Oversee inventory levels, product rotation, vendor deliveries, and invoice verification Monitor sales trends and adjust ordering and merchandising decisions accordingly Build professional relationships with vendors and ensure deliveries and invoices are accurate Minimize waste and product loss, including kitchen and Redneck beverage areas Deliver and reinforce a strong customer experience and resolve customer complaints quickly Ensure the store consistently reflects the Great Scotts feel, including friendliness, energy, and helpful service Ensure compliance with all laws and company policies related to alcohol, tobacco, lottery, food safety, and fuel operations Ensure employees complete required compliance training and understand company standards Oversee daily paperwork, cash handling, and financial accuracy Verify deposits and monitor overages or shortages Use store reporting tools and systems to understand and manage store performance Manage labor proactively and maintain awareness of store financial performance Step in where needed to support the team, ensure store coverage, and maintain smooth store operations
