ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Career Transition Coordinator and Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Site Manager.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the Career Transition Coordinator and Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Site Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of district-wide initiatives aimed at supporting high school equivalency graduates and upper-level English Language Acquisition students in transitioning into the Southwestern Illinois College and assist with workplace placement opportunities. The Coordinator serves as the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Site Manager at the Sam Wolf Granite City Campus. The Coordinator collaborates with community agencies to identify essential services and address gaps in institutional support that may hinder successful transitions, and employment placement. The Coordinator works to address the gaps by: developing and maintaining a collaborative relationship with students, college personnel, and key stakeholders such as local business and industry partners; assisting in identifying student needs and referring students to appropriate college resources related to postsecondary education, workplace readiness, and job placement. The Coordinator collaborates directly with external agencies to support individuals seeking postsecondary education or workplace readiness and employment opportunities. The Coordinator functions as the department's transitional liaison for partnering local and state agencies. This position will supervise and oversee part-time staff's day-to day activities for auxiliary services which offers a variety of educational programs and provides necessary services to students and staff. This is a full time, administrative position dependent upon continued grant funding.
QUALIFICATIONS 1. A
bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree preferred. 2. Previous experience in Adult Education is preferred. 3. Demonstrated ability in communicating and working with non-traditional and underrepresented student population required. 4. Previous administrative or supervisory experience preferred. 5. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
PAY AND HOURS
Salary Grade 3 on the Administrative Pay Scale, ranging from $52,150 - $65,200.
