Key Responsibilities πŸ›’ Retail Operations Management Oversee daily operations of team retail stores (stadium shops, kiosks, pop-ups, and sometimes online fulfillment coordination) Ensure stores are fully stocked, well organized, and visually appealing Manage game-day and event retail execution, including staffing, setup, and teardown Monitor sales performance and adjust merchandising strategies in real time during events πŸ“¦ Inventory & Merchandising Coordinate with VP of Merchandise for product availability Coordinate with VP of Merchandise to analyze sales trends and forecast demand Implement visual merchandising plans aligned with team branding and promotions Minimize shrinkage and oversee stock control processes πŸ‘₯ Staff Leadership & Development Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff, including part-time game-day employees Create staff schedules, especially for high-volume events Set performance expectations and provide coaching and feedback Ensure excellent customer service standards are consistently met Lead team during high-pressure game-day environments πŸ’° Sales & Financial Management Drive revenue growth and meet retail sales targets Track daily, event-based, and seasonal sales metrics Manage budgets, payroll costs, and expenses Prepare reports for senior management on performance and profitability Implement promotions, discounts, and upselling strategies 🎯 Customer Experience & Brand Representation Ensure a positive, engaging fan experience in all retail locations Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations professionally Maintain consistent brand presentation aligned with team identity Enhance fan engagement through promotions, special events, or exclusive merchandise 🀝 Vendor & Partner Coordination Coordinate product launches with Front Office and senior management Ensure compliance with league merchandising guidelines πŸ–₯️ E-commerce & Omni-Channel Support Collaborate with e-commerce teams on online merchandise strategy Support order fulfillment, returns, and customer service coordination (as needed) Align in-store and online promotions for a unified fan shopping experience πŸ“… Event & Game-Day Execution Plan and execute retail strategy for games, playoffs, and special events Manage high-volume traffic and ensure operational efficiency Coordinate staffing, inventory, and logistics for peak demand periods πŸ“Š Reporting & Analytics Analyze sales data by product category, game, and season Identify best-selling products and underperforming items Use insights to optimize inventory and marketing strategies 🧩 Common Skills & Qualifications Retail management experience (sports/entertainment preferred) Strong leadership and team management skills Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays (game schedule dependent) Experience with POS systems and inventory software Strong understanding of customer service and merchandising principles Passion for sports and fan engagement ⚑ Unique Aspects of the Role in Sports Highly event-driven (peaks during game days and playoffs) Requires flexibility and ability to handle large crowds and high-pressure situations Merchandise demand can change rapidly based on team performance, trades, and player popularity Strong emphasis on fan experience and brand loyalty
